Featured Tip:   Carpet Restoration from ice melt.

Are your carpets suffering from the winter blues? Calcium chloride, potassium and magnesium components that make ice melters work, are also challenging to get out of the carpets come springtime.

Here is what we found works:

• Vacuum the entire area
• Rent or buy a Pile Lifter. This is an extraordinary, high powered vacuum and brush that opens up the pile and super cleans the backings
• Pre-spray the area with a low foaming, or citrus based degreaser usually 2-4 ounces per gallon mixture.
• Then extract with a solution of non-browning solution mixed at 6 ounces per gallon. This is the key step in the process.
• Allow to air dry or use carpet fans to speed up the drying process
• Vacuum area after it has dried.
• Enjoy the real beauty and color of your carpet once again!
